What is a residential lease agreement?
A residential lease agreement is the legal document that governs the transfer of use of a property intended as a main residence, between a landlord and a tenant, for a set price.
It is regulated by the Urban Leases Act (LAU) and sets out the obligations of both parties: rent, deposit, term, upkeep, and termination of the contract.
The minimum legal term is 5 years (7 if the landlord is a legal entity) — the tenant can extend up to this limit.

A residential lease agreement is the legal document that formalizes the rental of a property intended as a main residence. It is regulated by the Urban Leases Act (LAU) and must include the mandatory clauses regarding rent, deposit, term, and the obligations of the parties.
